How roles work
Barkat has four roles. The owner can do everything, including your Barkat subscription, data export and managing staff logins. A manager can do everything else: counter, stock, parties, expenses, reports and adding staff. A cashier works the counter, the sales list and stock. A viewer can read the dashboard and reports without changing anything.
Changes to items, parties, expenses, bills, returns, purchases and staff are written to an audit log with who made them, and only the owner and managers can read it.

What can't a cashier open?Cashier kya nahi dekh sakta?
The Reports, Expenses, party ledger, Cash & Bank, day book, audit log, staff and settings screens. Their dashboard still shows sales and udhaar totals.
Can a cashier edit items or stock?Cashier stock badal sakta hai?
No. Cashiers can look up stock, but only the owner and managers can edit items and stock.
Do staff need their own email?Staff ka apna email chahiye?
Yes. Each staff login uses an email and a password you set, and the owner can reset it.
Who can see the audit log?Audit log kaun dekh sakta hai?
The owner and managers.
Can a viewer make bills?Viewer bill bana sakta hai?
No. A viewer can see the dashboard and reports (and, in General Trade, the transactions list), and change nothing.
