What the Barkat counter does
The counter is where you make bills. Search an item by name or code, or scan its barcode, set the quantity and save. Barkat numbers every bill (INV-00001, INV-00002 and so on) and keeps it in your sales list, where you can find it again and reprint it.
Each edition's counter fits its trade. The Pharmacy counter searches by medicine or salt, picks the batch that expires first, and saves and prints with F9. The General Trade counter sells in an item's base unit or its second unit, if it has one, with a percentage discount on each line.

How it works

Find the item
Type a name or code, or scan the barcode. In the Pharmacy edition a scan adds the item straight to the bill.

Take payment
Choose how the customer pays. Udhaar goes into the customer's khata, up to the limit you set (the Pharmacy desktop app flags an over-limit bill for review instead).

Print the receipt
In the Pharmacy edition the 80mm receipt prints as soon as you save; in General Trade, tap Print receipt after you save.
Billing & counter questions
Does it work with a barcode scanner?Barcode scanner chalta hai?
Yes. Any USB barcode scanner that types like a keyboard works. In the Pharmacy edition a scan adds the item to the bill; in General Trade it finds the item and you tap it.
Which printers does Barkat support?Kaun sa printer chalega?
80mm thermal receipt printers. Print from the browser, or from the Barkat desktop app in the Pharmacy edition.
Can I give a discount?Discount de sakte hain?
Yes. The Pharmacy counter takes a discount on the whole bill. General Trade lets you give a percentage discount on each line and an amount off the whole bill.
Can a customer return items?Maal wapas ho sakta hai?
Yes. Make a sale return against the bill and the stock comes back. In the Pharmacy edition the counter staff can do it; in General Trade an owner or manager does it from the sales list.
Can I reprint an old bill?Purana bill dobara print ho sakta hai?
Yes. Find it in the sales list by bill number or customer, or filter by date, and print it again. Prints from the sales list are marked DUPLICATE.
